Default full power decals

Anyone know where to find the letters by the power key? Refinishing the area and they will have to go! Mine consist of " OFF ON POWER " on a 95.

Thanks

This could be a solution.

I have this sheet of what's called "velvet lettering" that I got from where I used to work on aircraft back in around 2002 (I don't know where they got it from). You just position each letter where you want it then rub firmly over the top of it with a ball-point pen to apply it to the desired surface. It ends up looking like it was silk-screened on. You could even paint a coat of clear over the whole thing to make it more durable.

I used it in my '97 F-150 to redo some lettering after I painted a bezel in it. It ended up looking exactly like the factory letters. That was over 5 years ago and the letters are still there, so it holds up pretty well.

If there are companies that still make this kind of thing, you could have them make a sheet of lettering for you in the correct color, font and maybe other symbols (like the "dots" next to the "normal" and "full" on the '90 ZR-1 bezels). Then for the '90 ZR-1 bezels (which are nearly impossible to find), if you needed a new one because yours is damaged or cut up (like mine is), you could get the easier to find normal '90 Corvette bezel, cut the hole, repaint if necessary & apply the lettering.

This would be much harder to do with the '91-'95 ZR-1 bezels though, as those have a more complicated "box" version of the power key switch that needs a place to mount on the back unlike the simpler '90 style that is just a round lock cylinder which mounts from the front with a connector that plugs into the back of it.

Or if you just wanted to repaint your original, this would allow you to re-apply the lettering to look nearly identical to factory. This would also work for the driver's door pull piece (and any other piece with similar lettering) with the mirror and window switches, although that piece has a "window" icon, but I'm sure it could be reproduced also.

Does anyone know if this type of "velvet" sheet-lettering can still be purchased & customized to order?

when i installed the auto shifter in my 90 zr-1 i had to rpl the 90 bezel with one from 90-91 c4. i did not want to cut up the org. bezel, so a used one from a 90 c4 was used.
after cuttimg a hole for the power key i had a print shop make up new decals. as shown
below

NORMAL (upper left)
SIT DOWN (instead of FULL POWER) (upper right)
SHUT UP
HANG ON

ENG. POWER (lower left)

they even got the correct color

You can find that lettering in arts supply stores. Used it for my drawings years ago.
