Default H.O.T. HELPING OUR TROOPS

Fellow Vette Lovers:

Who are we? And What are we doing?
Both my husband Scott and I, our Bible Study Group, and Cedar Brook Community Church, in Clarksburg, MD are in the midst of raising monies to purchase special supplies for our troops stationed in Iraq. After having done some research we have found that a great number of our countries civilian population would be interested in helping our troops but don’t know how; and, that to a soldier away from home any amount of the following items would be richly appreciated:

Beef Jerky – Gatorade – Gum – Baby Wipes – Q-Tips – Saline Eye Drops –Saline Nose Spray –Toilet Paper –Tooth Brushes/Paste –Razors - Avon Skin So Soft – Phone Cards – Stationary/Pens – Postage Stamps – Magazines- Ministry Books - Bibles-

All supplies purchased from donations will be bought in bulk and shipped via military transport in their original packaging. One hundred percent of all donations will be applied to the purchase of supplies. Two methods have been identified for making donations. The first, is check or money order made out to Cedar Brook Community Church. €œHelping Our Troops” needs to be written on the memo line of each check or money order. The second method, for those interested in using a credit card for a donation can take advantage of a PayPal account.

When?
We are currently reaching out to suppliers, distributors, and manufacturers to ask for any assistance that will lower the cost of each item. COSTCO, for example, is assisting by not limiting their excellent coupon purchases to “one per family”. Also, we have the good fortune of being supplied Beef Jerky, at cost, by Wild Joes, www.wildjoes.com . He and his wife Colleen have a son serving in the military. We are planning to make our first purchase just after May 9th. We are therefore asking that interested participants make their offering to Cedar Brook Community Church by May 9th.

Where will the goods be collected and shipped?
We are currently coordinating with Sgt. Maj. R. A. Hawkins and 1st Sgt. J. W. Turner of the 2d Supply Bn, 2d FSSG. They are both an encouragement and facilitators in that they are coordinating where we will deliver our collected goods.

Why are we doing this?
Because our troops need to know we care, because we believe you will help us show our soldier we care, and because many people who care and want to help don’t know how. We just want to facilitate.

How can you help?
Checks or money orders can be made out to Cedar Brook Community Church, (www.cedarbrookchurch.org). Remember…”Helping Our Troops”, needs to be on the memo line. We are asking that the envelopes be mailed to 18824 Falling Star Road, Germantown, MD 20874. For those of you who would rather use a credit card transaction you may use a Verified, Premiere, PayPal account maria.frager@verizon.net . Please use ‘quasi –cash’ in the ‘type’ category. Unfortunately, there is a lot of time and legality involved in setting up a ‘donation’ account. We are only offering this option to those who would prefer making a credit card contribution. PayPal will subtract 2.2% of each donation plus an additional 30 cents per transaction as a service charge. Again, 100 % of ALL remaining MONIES DONATED will be used to purchase the bulk items being shipped to our troops.

We’d like to thank you in advance for your show of caring support directed to the men and women who daily put themselves in harms way. We’d also like to thank you for joining us in our mission. God Bless You and God Bless the United States of America!

Faithfully yours,
Maria and Scott Frager
