Default Got my answer.

Throwout bearing is broke again. And slave cylinder pin snapped in half. Deja vu all over again. Well, instead of a "plenum pulling party"! I guess I'll have a transmission pulling clutch replacment party. WooHoo!. Ryan? Lee? Robert? Or is that crickets chirping in the background I hear?
P.S this time a fadanza flywheel is going in. And a better clutch.

Take a look at the LT-1 camaro clutch with a sprung hub for the Fidanza.
Can be found for $69.

Rick, Jeff was probably right about the misalignment, but I wonder if maybe the throwout bearing is fine and the clutch fork is just of it's pivot ball?

I would definitely without a doubt be pissed if I had to pull the transmission again !!!!

I thought I had it bad enough when mine only needed a dab of grease on the throwout bearing. I know one thing for sure, I probably would have caught it after reading the "BIG RED BIBLE" manuals clutch section, but I owe the guys here at the registry for the warning about the plug in the crankshaft! Now that would have been catastrophic!

I assume you replaced it also with the newer splined one with a little extra moly grease, right?

Tell me your kidding. So yesterday, were you telling me this is what I have to look forward to when I start getting more than a few miles on the Z? If so, I'm heading for the roof...

Hang in there and remember,
This too shall pass.
This too shall pass.
This too shall pass.
This too shall pass.

When are you going to do it? I am off this week. Maybe I can bring mine over and you can see what my shifter is doing.

Ryan it probably won't be this weekend. Because if I spend anymore money on the king of the hill, the queen of the hill will kill me. So in order to keep the piece I am going to go ahead and sell the 68 mustang and use the money for the Z. I've lost interest in that stang and its just taking up space in my garage. And yes I did have the slave pin in the right spot because it was nice and shinny in the middle like rail road tracks after a 100 car freight train going over them. It took a hell of alot of force to break that pin.

Rick, this stuff should not break, it should not bind when properly installed, unless it was just a case of "cheap chinese junk"

R&R the trans should only take you 3 hours, pressure plate not much more.

I ask myself the same question. I don't drive it all that much. Just on the weekends. I've put 10,000 miles on it in the last two years. This throwout bearing thing seems to happen when I'm just cruising. Have you seen the throwout bearing in our cars? Not much to it. I agree Jeff this stuff shouldn't break. The slave has TAIWAN stamped in big bold letters right on it. The only thing I can figure is that it was not retracting when I took my foot off the peddle and was just building more and more pressure till the throwout bearing couldn't take it anymore and snapped. Which just cost me another clutch kit. This time I'm gonna put a Fidanza flywheel in and a Spec stage 2 clutch in. But remember Jeff I don't have a big fancy lift. It's gonna be on jack stands. Not a lot of room there. And will take more than three hours. But it should go quicker this time since I've already done it once a year ago.
