Well, would suggest behind the Cluster, but it is a PITA to get back there.

I cannot remember the wire color, but it comes through the bulkhead connector above the clutch pedal.

if it was me though, now that I think about it, I would find the wire under the hood, tap there and either drill a small hole through the firewall and run it that way..

but I know how many are about adding an extra hole.. or find a grommit to send the wire through..

for 12v and GND, just find any sources in the car.. 1991 and new have that avail under the console (it is a pigtail)

yes that is useful.. that is where I installed on on my 89 (that I removed)

but I wired it differently when I did it. no reason for the different wiring though
