Default Z's are dropping like flies!!!

Over on that other forum who shall not be named.
'91 Red w/black guts, 83k miles, Borla exhaust.
Hard hit on drivers door, dash is damaged, "A" pillar is damaged so repairing the car is gonna be expensive.

A real shame, Maryland loses one of only a handful of its Z's. Looks like it was a nice car too. Why aren't the people who tow and store them accountable for minimizing the damage by covering the car and keeping the interior from the rain?

I finally got to the impound lot to put a cover over the open driver's window!

You're right, the tow companies could care less about the cars they drop off on the lot! I got to the lot as soon as I could after the accident. Had to go to the hospital first, though.

Re: the car, it will be too costly to repair (at least too costly for me). I think I have a better chance finding someone that can part it out. Hoping there's some interest....

I wonder out of the 6,939 made how many there really are left. I have a hard time imagining that its anywhere near the original number produced. Its probably impossible to know. And although we are active owners I'm sure there are plenty of hermits out there that want to keep them under lock and key like a leprechauns pot of gold. An interesting motor trend magazine show I saw on TV I think in 1996 they were talking about the 1968 GT390 fast back mustang that was driven in the movie Bullet that came out in 1968. They used 2 440 R/T chargers and 2 GT390 fastback mustangs in the car chase scene. Both got totalled during that the chase. Accept for one of the fastbacks that was apperently bought by a retirerd police chief in New Jersey where it resides in his garage. When Motor trend contacted the own to do a story on the car and get some pictures the owner wasn't interested and declined. They said he was a very reclusive person. This guy owns a piece of movie history that Steve Mcqueen the man himself sat in and drove during some of the chase scenes. But he refuses to share with the rest of the world. My father is now 68 and he said when that movie came out it was the greatest most raw, and brutal car chase movie ever produced. And for those of you who have never seen it here it is.

Bullet! Oh yea, great flick!

I saw that in a movie house, on a regular sized screen or what today passes as a "big screen"............that was the best car chase. We counted the number of hubcaps that the charger lost during the chase....

Zefpashko, glad to hear you are okay!
Sorry to hear that the Z is a gonner!
