Selling '91 Corvette ZR-1 For Repair or Parts
SOLD!!!!!
Thanks everyone for the interest and good wishes!!!!!!!! Got some bad news... This weekend's bad weather got the better of me and the Z. When the dust settled, I was basically ok but the car has a fair amount of damage to the driver's side and I can't justify spending the money to fix it any time soon. So, I need to sell it. It has a clear title with 83K miles. Was running at time of accident but now battery's dead. The black interior is very good condition, no tears in leather. Airbag still intact. Just bought nearly new glass top which still seems good. Also has Borla exhaust on it. All the damage is on the driver's side door. Also affected the windshield and pushed in the dashboard. Passenger, front and rear sides are completely undamaged. I'm shopping around some of the salvage yards that deal with these types of cars but I figure maybe some forum member might also be interested. I have NOT gotten estimates to fix this car, so I can't tell you what it'll take to fix it. I'm looking to get around $10K or best offer. Would like to get it sold this week so I'm more inclined to negotiate on price with serious buyers. The longer it takes to sell, the more I need to get back due to storage costs!!! Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks for the consideration guys! Also, not interested in parting out. Don't have the time or patience for it. Just need to sell it at this point. Not sure I've had the pleasure to meet you but I'm really sorry to hear about your Z just the same. We didn't have many Z's in Maryland to begin with.
Looks the that 17-18 year old car did a respectable job absorbing a pretty good hit and keeping you safe. Glad that you came out of it okay. Best of luck in finding a buyer. |

Re: Selling '91 Corvette ZR-1 For Repair or Parts
I work in the insurance industry, generally a really solid piece of salvage damaged in a collision will bring 20 maybe 25% of their ACV, some classic cars bring 50% or more....but that is driven by the unique body, or extreme rarity.
I would guess at this point a Z would bring 25-30% of the ACV. You might also check with local salvage yards that offer worldwide internet auction services such as Co-Part or Insurance Auto Auctions. Some states allow for the private sale of vehicles at these yards. Good Luck, sorry to hear about the accident. LGAFF 92 ZR1 #234 |

Re: Selling '91 Corvette ZR-1 For Repair or Parts
As you can see Co_part handles some top end cars, they even battled with Ferrari about the sale of a totalled Enzo. Might want to call and ask them about their VIX Program.

I will apologize I hope I did not hi-jack the thread, trying to help, let me know and I will remove if you want. http://www.adesa.com/ Last edited by LGAFF; 10-27-2008 at 10:27 PM. |
