Lingenfelter spots new market in IRAQ?
Hopefully this link works........
http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/play...08775&src=news I think I saw Hadi in the background doing a burnout....where has he been? I would love to run the VINs on all of those cars. They are hot in more ways than one. LGAFF 92 ZR1 #234 |

Re: Lingenfelter spots new market in IRAQ?
In Kuwait there is a fullup NHRA 1/4 strip.
I was leading a flight of Apaches back in one night when one of my wingman spotted it. He did a GPS update over it and later we checked it out. Seems that after Gulf War One some of the locals (with ALOT of cash) read about a strip closing somewhere in the states. They had their agents buy it lock-stock-barrel and shipped everything to Kuwait. I mean EVERYTHING - ticket booths, grandstands, Christmas Tree, timimg traps, vendors booths, etc., etc. They even had the "Welcome Race Fans" signs. They were running mostly local cars with a handful of former Pro Stock cars that they also got in the deal. Their "America Dream" was to get some funny & top fuel cars. If it wasn't for a lack of Beer & Babes you would think that you were back in the States.

What a great story! Maybe they could run events to entertain the troops.
Watch out if Talladega ever goes up for sale. Jim |

Just make sure you repatriate any stray Z's that you might see over there!
