Default Vacuum Solenoid for Secondaries

Finally found the cause for my secondary pump to stay on all the time. Its the vacuum soleniod under the plenum. Neither side holds vacuum. Checked the rest of the system, and everything else does hold vacuum.

The AC Delco part # is 1997222, does anyone know if GM/Chevy still has this in stock, or is it discontinued meaning the only place to get it is from Kurt?

Word, thanks Jeff.

Do you have a country wide inventory lookup software or something?

I have access to everything GM has. I can order a vehicle if I wanted.

Also try Stan at Tom Henry Chevrolet. He was a huge help when I needed mine. Keep in mind that there are a pretty good percentage of these that are questionable right out of the box. You need to get ones that the actuator levr pulls straight back when vacum is applied. Thats more of a challenge than you might think. Stan went through 7 or 8 before we found 2 good ones. And put them on right side up. Mine were on wrong from Mercury.

And, then there are those (e.g. PeteZR-1) that have deleted the secondary throttle plates and associated vacuum stuff all together; running on "all 16" full time with good results. (An awful lot of "stuff" to wrong. Parts not installed don't break, as they say.) I have mine still intact. But, the "rats nest" of vacuum tubes and valves and connections, etc, etc that disappear from under the plenum when the secondary throttle plates and associated "stuff" are removed - appeals to me. Simplicity can be a beautiful thing, sometimes.
