Default 1993 heavyweight vs lightweight

So I came across this writeup on Haibeck's site and was curious.

I think my car 315 does NOT have the fuel neck extension but can't really see well enough to be sure through the safety flap. Is there anywhere the absorption material is easily visible to verify?

Default Re: 1993 heavyweight vs lightweight

I used to own 93 #187. It was a heavyweight car and had the fuel filler extension.

The easiest tell is how many gallons you put in when filling up.

If the tank is near empty and you are able to put in only like 15 gallons, then your car is a heavyweight.

If you can fill ~18 gallons from empty, then your car is a regular weight car.
