Just hit 30. I also read where the battery terminal on starter must not be rotated. Apparently there is no mechanism to prevent this from happening when tightening the terminal nut so one must be aware of this when torquing. I have had the starter out of the car and don?t recall paying much attention to this when re-installing. Thought maybe if it wasn?t supposed to turn it wouldn?t but I give the GM engineers maybe too much credit.

Different starter design than a SBC. Contact is L shaped. Yes I did rotate them on SBC back when young and broke in 70?s and 80?s. No longer young and no longer broke but yet fix stuff rather than replace it.
