I don't suppose anyone here has an old steering rack laying around?
I belive I've got some play in mine, and have been considering letting Turn One rebuild it. Shipping such a unit from Norway is however not very cost efficient, so it'd might be cheaper just to buy a core in the US.

Not much action this season, but got her out to strech her legs a few times.
Installed a new headunit as well (Pioneer AVH5800), but on a 90 I think it's too much cutting involved to fit one, so I think I'll replace the Pioneer with a shallow mount headunit. Don't need the CD-mechanism.
The few test trips was however enough to kill one of the front amps, so it seems I won't be running out of projects.

Winter is coming, so I assume this was one of the last trips of the season. They look good, these old vettes.

I've been going throught the car from underneath the last few days, and discovered something peculiar. The whole rear subframe seems to be offset towards the drivers side by just over 1/4", which results in the left rear wheel sticking over 1/2" further out of the wheel arch than the right rear wheel.

Not a major issue if the problem was purely cosmetic, but such is not my luck.
The inner side of the tire seems to be touching the rod-mounts.

Which makes my wheels unhappy.

Has anyone encountered this issue? there doesn't seem to be any structural damage. However, many of the bushings are starting to show signs of age, and as I have given up finding OEM rubber bushings, I've thrown in the towel and ordered a complete set of SuperPro bushes for the rear end. Including batwing mounts.

By the way, anyone know the recommended camber/toe settings for the rear?

While waiting for parts, other minor issues may be corrected. Like testing heat resistant paint types, which may or may not set the car on fire.

A few brackets also get a sandblast/respray treatment.

Upon receiving the new SuperPro bushes, the batwing will be removed.
Anything else one should do "while in there"?

I rescued #2822,1990 Z back in 2018 from Myrtle Beach SC. It had been just sitting for many years. 74k miles on the clock. I started at the fuel tank and worked my way forward. Got tags and insurance May 2020. I have driven her over 6k miles so far and plan on many more. Get a shop manual, electrical supplement and dive right in. It is a well engineered machine and is a blast to drive. I have learned so much about this machine through this site, Mark H and many members on this site. It's very satisfying wrenching on this beast. I still have so much I want to do to my Z, slowly getting there.
