Re: 1995 ZR-1 #004!!
Thank you, Joe! I agree, I love the number, too! I think I have had *Corvette* madness for most of my life I also really have enjoyed seeing your copper car take form. So sad that the sole '94 was destroyed. I remember the article on it in Corvette Quarterly.
As time goes on, C4s seem to be attracting more attention. I was outside maybe 10-15 minutes, a guy came by (again, I live in a very low-traffic cul-de-sac), pointed at it, and asked if it was a ZR-1. My neighbors probably think I'm nuts, too. Wait till the lift goes in So after completing my cleaning expedition, I finally had a little bit of time to take decent pictures of both yellow cars together. Neither one has been detailed really recently, but I couldn't wait any longer. Here are a few. Yes, my license plate on my LT4 really is my username. I've had that plate since 1998, it started on my '95 Z28, which I sold in 2001 to keep my LT4. Thanks! IMG_9458.jpg IMG_9470.jpg IMG_9493.jpg IMG_9502.jpg IMG_9504.jpg

Re: 1995 ZR-1 #004!!
How does the LT4 perform compared to the LT-5? I read that the LT4 is supposed to pump up to 370hp or even more despite rated at "only" 330hp. Appreciate your experiences as you're now one of the few very lucky humans who own both.

Re: 1995 ZR-1 #004!!
Hi Mike, interesting to hear about the LT4. I read many good things and I'm thinking about adding an LT4 car to my barn. Looking forward to hear more from you once the ZR is on the road.
W.r.t. the high idle maybe this helps: http://www.zr1specialist.com/HAT%20W...um%20Leaks.htm Marc indicates that vacuum leaks may cause this. Of course this doesn't need to be the root cause in your case case but it may be helpful. Good luck!

Anyway... yes, the LT4s are still bargains, in my opinion. I have to admit, I still really want a yellow LT4 convertible to add to my little collection some day. That's a REALLY hard one to find, although I've seen two in the past week. It still floors me what some of the Grand Sports bring, when in reality, they are much more common than some of the more rare 'base' LT4s. I love 'em all though... Thanks! Mike

Re: 1995 ZR-1 #004!!
Wow that is a cool story. I would leave the Kerbeck sticker on and get all the documentation that you can to support the story. When I got my Z I printed the car fax and began using the information to find the previous owners. I found 3 out of 4 and emailed them as well as talked to them on the phone for more information about the history of the car.
If your windshield is not broken I would not change it because that will devalue the car and also cause it to rank lower on NCRS or Bloomington Gold certifications. If you have certain issues I might know who to call for repairs. There are people in the C4 repair business who are crooks so let me know before you stumble on to one of them. The best Engine guy is Marc Hailbeck in Chicago. The Best Transmission guy is Bill Boudreau in Arizona Radio Dr Don Dallas Texas Lumbar Seats In Florida Heater Core in North Kansas City Air Conditioning North Kansas City but he has a 9 month waiting line Air Conditioning Compressor Steve at Denzo in California The list goes on |

I unfortunately didn't get much documentation on this one. I tried, but there wasn't much to be had, it appears. The original owner actually passed away about a year-and-a-half ago. His son started advertising it at a crazy price a year ago. I watched it for a while. The price eventually came down to reality, but it was removed for a few months. It came back again as I was contemplating another one, then eventually I of course wound up with this one. The owner's son told me that the car was purchased after Kerbeck decided to sell it, but not entirely sure when this happened. I don't think Kerbeck had it too long as it shows first owner in March, 1995. There was an inspection done in 1997 by a Florida entity (I do have that paperwork) showing about 3800 miles. I am fairly sure that is when the original owner had to repurchase the car from a divorce; it was either that, or 2001 when the title issue came up. From that divorce, paperwork was thrown away, unfortunately, and it would appear that a lot of original documentation was lost at that time. The owner's son knew quite a bit, and would have gladly given it to me if he had it. So the windshield is not broken, but it is very badly delaminated. I've seen #448 at the museum and mine is every bit as bad, if not worse. In direct sunlight, it's a problem. At night, passing under street lights (just experienced this tonight) or with oncoming headlights, it's really bad. At this point it is a safety issue if I want to drive it anywhere more than a couple miles away, unfortunately, and that's no fun. If it were just around the edges like so many I have seen, I wouldn't care. Thank you so much for the suggestions on help! I have definitely communicated with Marc H. and have been watching his Plenum removal video, along with reading through the vacuum leak FAQ. The idle varies, which is interesting, and it did actually idle normally one time . Admittedly I haven't driven too far since I also have original GSCs (which will be saved and will most likely stay with the original wheels), but haven't decided what to do about new wheels/tires yet. Still lots to do and try but very little time these days. Appreciate it! Mike
