Yes, outer side of HVAC box. I removed the passenger side of the box to replace the evaporator. The screen comes out first, then the evaporator. There is a large rubber seal that surrounds the evaporator. It is larger on the left side, looking at the installed evaporator. Apparently, several people have found this seal missing due to previous repairs by prior owners. If the seal is missing, outside air bypasses the evaporator.

Hope the link works. In the picture in post #6, the outer half of the HVAC box is part 7, the screen is part 9, the seal is part 6, evap is part 5.

Replace the blower fan. After 25 plus years of performance they do wear out. GC

Here are some photos of the fan speed controller. Replacing mine helped the blower speed and volume. Make sure you get an exact and correct replacement. There are some that look similar but do not fit.
