Oil Drain Plug Gasket?
I want to get a few new gaskets for when I do oil changes. My first 91 ZR1 I swear the plug looked different and used the copper metal gasket. It was serial 0534. My current Z also a 91 has the metal and rubber gasket. It's number 0134. I am looking on Rock Auto and they have several different types. The cooper gasket, the metal and rubber gasket, and a fiber gasket. Which one should I use? Should I stick with the metal and rubber unit or get the fiber unit? It's a pain getting the plug off with the old compressed gasket. Any thoughts?
Fiber #DORMAN 097029 Metal/Rubber # DORMAN 097035 There is also a composite # MAHLE 2051

Re: Oil Drain Plug Gasket?
I use the metal and rubber because it does not fall off when I drop it in the drain pan.

Jerry's will have everything you need.
He supports the Registry so I think we should support him.

Re: Oil Drain Plug Gasket?
Any seal that fits should work, unless your concerned about NCRS.
I like the metal with captured rubber o-ring type... |
