Awesome Hans! I forgot all about the airbag lift. Jim Voter has a piece of I-Beam which he uses with an airbag to slide under the diff, and raise the rear. The part slides right between the exhaust pipes, and is rubber padded. Once lifted, the jack stands go right under.

I have a Bandpak HD-9 and 2 narrower HD-9STs. The larger HD-9 is what I use for all my work. I have 2 bridges that I can jack from, but really wanted a bridge jack. They are outrageously expensive from Bendpak, and having seen problems with the air jacks, looked for something else. I purchased a Quality Lifts rolling bridge jack QRJ04H 4,500 lb from NAPA. It is a manual hand pump and I love it. You need to check your inner rail height before purchasing. I didn’t. What I found is that it sits about 2 inches below the bottom of the lift, and touches the floor first. While I didn’t like that at all, the awesome part is that it barely runs over the surface of the ramps and allows movement of the jack freely, even a super lowered car. Even better, I caught a NAPA sale and purchased it for under $700. Well worth every penny.

lots of great info here, but myself as a technician for 35 plus years would only want a 2 post lift. anything else for me gets in the way. unless your just storing cars and cleaning ect.
