V2V frame stiffener install tips please?
I ordered a V2V frame stiffer set up and it arrived today. I'll be installing this weekend on my 91.
Any tips for install and adjusting from those who "have gone before" that you can share?

I created a thread regarding the installation of the V2V No Flex.

Re: V2V frame stiffener install tips please?
Great timing. I plan to install mine soon.
I bought them a year ago. Looked in the box this past week and didn't see any instructions. I probably have them somewhere, but this thread is great. Thank you. |

Dom-
I did some "test fitting" today and the install seems to be pretty straight forward. Your write up helped a lot. My question is with the E-Brake cable. I see that the E- brake brackets need to be loosened for the drilling, but what happens when you are done? Does the cable just "rest" on the bracket or what...? Thanks!

E-brake cable bracket bolts back up to where it was.

I have a tip. When you first get the kit, open it up and see if you need to paint any parts. All four of my brackets had large paint chips falling off the bare metal. Mine needed to be sanded, prepped and repainted.

Re: V2V frame stiffener install tips please?
Installed!
My buddy Alan and I started about 9 Sunday morning and it took 2 hours. Real straight forward install (thanks for the links XFire51) with the only PITA being drilling the hole on the drivers side-- as discussed. I though the overall fit, finish and quality was top-notch. We took it out for a ride and did notice a "flatter" car coming in and out of corners. We adjusted the tension to the same on both sides with the car flat on the ground. I'm not sure if the tension is too much, too little or just right. I'm going to "live with it" for a week and see if I need to do anything. I read the instructions which said to remove the top, raise and lower the car and adjust the tension after you measure the flex between the Halo and the windshield. Is that the best way to judge torsion or is there a better way to "dial it in?"
