I’d like to see it repaired. Yellow is less common and it has interesting provenance with the Penzoil connection. Say 6 to 7k as it sits. Of course, I bought an example with 175k miles, so my judgment is suspect when it comes to stray-dog Corvettes.

Have any pictures been posted of the damage?

The answer is simple.
Fix what is wrong mechanically.
Then address cosmetic and odor issues.

Would you have scrapped a big block mid year coupe over such things?
Today, they haul them out of barns covered in manure, untouched in decades, and make a huge fuss over the restoration.

As described, this one is easy.
Stop dithering and start fixing would be my advice to her.

Feel free to have her ship it to my shop.
Sounds like a great winter fill in job.

It's a ZR-1!

I posted up on the other thread - I've been through EXTENSIVE mouse damage, and glad I saved the car. The repair was not cost prohibitive as everything does not have to be replaced, rather it does require time and effort to clean properly.

I personally like the Comp Yellow '90s.

Save it!!!!!
