Help Needed... Loading up, Dieing, and Charging Issues
Need assistance with a few issues, just made it to the heliport in Boothville LA, 7 hour trip from Montgomery TX. With 45 miles to go, cruise kicked out, look down and the voltmeter is close to 8 VDC... I killed all electrical and dimmed the dash so I wouldn't stress the issue, made sure that I had hot air periodically. At 30 miles to go, is started leaving it a great short to keep the rpm up, and the damn thing started charging again, its just left of the half way mark... Got me to work! That and the other issues listed below:
1. Charging - battery has 30k on it. Alternator (Jerry's good one) has about 20k on it. Recon it's an alternator issue? Anyone know if Jerry had a warranty? Lol 2. Loading up - sometimes if I let The Car sit running, or when I start it, it sounds like its running on 4 cylinders, if I REV it, and now it out it clears up? Anyone fix this issue before? I'm running the injectors from EBay... 3. Dies on quick rpm decrease - sometimes when I slap it in neutral it will die. This has been an issue since the lightweight flywheel went in. I think I just need 200 more idle rpm. Thoughts? Thanks y'all... I'm going to try and get a battery on my way home and not use any unnecessary electrical. Start wishing me luck now lol... Jay. Re: Help Needed... Loading up, Dieing, and Charging Issues
Fuel mileage has gone from 22 average, to 17, on this trip that I make frequently.

Re: Help Needed... Loading up, Dieing, and Charging Issues
Sounds similar to an alternator issue I had this summer. Radio went out on the highway and voltage went down like yours. Alternator was a year old (but not Jerry's, FWIW).
Replaced the battery after the parts store ran a test and they said everything worked, but issue returned within 20 minutes. Pulled the alternator and the positive terminal was burnt up, must have had a loose connection somewhere. Replaced the alternator and I've been OK since (knock on wood?).
