Re: Dual mass Clutch Disc
Took the FW and PP to good machine shop I've used. FW doesn't need a thing, scotchbrite, brake clean and go.. PP is balanced. Just waiting on ARP bolts..

Re: Dual mass Clutch Disc
All buttoned up and ready for transmission. Bill said he was starting Wednesday the 5th. The ARP bolts were the trick. Perfect length! Dual Mass bolted up nicely. Took the torque up on FW in stages. 15, 37, 74 lbft. Pulled each one by one after 37 lbft torque, added red thread locker and torqued to 74 lbft.
Did same with PP bolts. 25 lbft, then pulled one by one and took them to 30 lbft with red thread locker. Bell housing torqued in at 37 lbft. I stabbed the slave cylinder. If it gets in the way of the transmission install, I can pull it off. Looks like it will clear. Slave only had 3,000 miles on it, so didn't change it, nor the master cylinder. Each have minimal miles on them. I'll flush the clutch fluid while the car is up on the lift. Sent from my XT1585 using ZR-1 Net Registry mobile app |

Re: Dual mass Clutch Disc
So the saga continues.. I'm pulling off the new LT-1 pressure Plate and will be going back with a reconditioned LT-5 pressure plate. Even though all bolted up nicely, the clutch fork angle put more preload on the slave cylinder than I wanted. Anyone looking for a new LUK pressure plate and ARP bolts can PM me and buy it for a bargain. This will be the end if this thread.. Bill Boudreaux is deep into my ZF S6 40 transmission. It had much more damage than I thought as a result of some rough shifting early in it's life. Hope to have it back in a couple of weeks and get #473 back on the road.
