Excellent. I didn't read it all the way through, are you using the external light bulb as a resister?

Simplest solution I found and used on Jagdpanzer's 94 was to remove fog light relay, locate and bend the ground post so that it will not plug in and complete the circuit, solder electrical wire to the bent ground post and ground the other end of new wire to one of the bolts under the passenger side structure. If you ever want to go back to original wiring ( don't know why but...), just replace the fog light relay with a new one.
