ALSO...

When I bought my first (95, LT1/M6) C4, I bought a scanner as result of an intermittent issue. It was THE BEST damn tool I ever bought for my C4s!

The company that made mine went out of business, but there are others still in the market: hand-held units that plug into the ALDL connection by cable or even blue-tooth adapter paired with an app on your smart phone!

I carry it in the car always - gives me stored codes, real-time data readouts, and even has an "event" mode where you push the event button when "IT" happens, and the unit saves the previous few seconds of data, and several seconds of data after the event which can be displayed graphically on a computer for analysis. Sucker has nailed several issues over the years - paid for itself MANY times over!

Makes fussing with the ALDL and a paperclip look pretty crude! Just a suggestion.

I've looked around for such a scanner, but could only find the usual OBD II devices.
Do you know of any similar units still in production?
