Depends. On the mass of the valvetrain, rpm, and acceleration rates of the lobe. In my case, I used a Porsche spring (outer only). Phil used PSI I think.

And this is where one of the advantageous of the DOHC architecture comes into effect, esp. when comnparing an OHV SBC vs. a DOHC Chev engine. The lighter the valvetrain is, the less valve spring is needed, all else equal.
