YOUR TAG blew my thoughts as to the relevance/relationship of the TRANSMISSION # being related maybe to a DATE CODE - LOL. That's good information for me though as I looked at a couple NOS transmissions I have(after posting) and I couldn't relate mine to a DATE CODE either. Thanks for that post of your tag information again. I had overlooked Jerry mentioning the TRANSMISSION # of his. I doubt that since the transmissions were an "import" that the sequencing of the TRANSMISSION # is relevant to production # (VIN) of the car.
My NOS BLUE TAG LT1/LT4 (089) is #'d 051708 and my NOS LT5 (087) is still sealed in the GM carton. I haven't checked it. Last edited by WVZR-1; 12-27-2016 at 12:05 PM. |

This transmission was on the car when I bought it in 2000. I believe this must have been replaced under the warranty. I'll be replacing dual mass flywheel along with clutch, pressure plate, TO bearings as needed in near future. When I do, will take a better picture and post it.
Any "yes" - it has later output shaft. Hope all is well, David H! |

Bill Boudreau rebuilt it for me, maybe something he did. I will call him & ask about the engravings and also the large o.d. collar/guide tube.

Anyone know about the throwout? The only difference I see is the slight knurled edge on the Z one. I had to put a zip tie on so I don't mix them up.

Rich, Give Jim Jandik a call. He loves to educate about this stuff and can rattle off dates and manufacturers like it was yesterday. Amazing and friendly guy. He said what is critical is the green case bearing with INA004. My fear is the Chinese can copy that too. http://www.powertorquesystems.com/Co...CorvetteTB.htm Sent from my iPhone using ZR-1 Net Registry
