NASA AZ Road Racing
Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park
20000 Maricopa Road - Chandler
Date(s) - September 10, 2016
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Have you ever wanted to drive your car beyond the legal limits? Have you ever dreamed of driving your car on a real race track? Did you know that you can do both in a safe, controlled and affordable environment? NASA makes it easy for anyone wanting to make this dream become a reality. No cops, no oncoming traffic, no pedestrians (or animals) and no tickets! The best part is you don’t even need a “race car”, you can do it in your own (street) car. Our HPDE program regularly sees vehicles ranging from basic commuter cars to some of the most exotic cars on the planet and of course everything in between.
Beginner students are hand matched with our certified professional instructors who provide 1×1 attention to each and every student. Maximum attention towards safety is the focus of the HPDE program. However, there are no speed limits or car modification limitations in any of the groups. Speed is only limited by the personal comfort level of the student.
This event will be held on the East Track. The track will be hot from 8:00am – 5:00pm.
HPDE (High Performance Driver Education)- 1:00pm – 4:00pm
Time Trials Groups
Small Bore & Big Bore Race Groups
UMS Time Attack Series
Key items to note:
1. Sound testing will be required the morning of the event. If you don’t pass you will receive a credit (registration cost) towards a future NASA AZ event (less a $30 processing fee).
2. You may purchase 1 or 2 add’l guest/crew passes for $25/each. There will be a limited number of passes available and must be purchased at the time of registration. (No guests will be allowed onsite without a pass since there is a 200 max person limit on the site.)
3. If you are part of a team the second driver will need to purchase the crew pass.
How do I pre-check my cars sound levels before showing up?
We get this question all of the time and here is what we have learned:
* Most cars with moderate power levels (<300HP) will pass the sound requirements if left stock
* Some cars with high output motors or V8’s may not pass sound even if completely stock (Ex: Corvette Z06, Ferrari, etc.)
* If your vehicle’s sound levels are questionable, they should be tested prior to showing up onsite so save administrative time for everyone. Decibel meter applications for smart phones are relatively accurate (within 2 dB) when compared to AMP’s high end sound testing equipment. To pass sound at AMP, you need to be @ 94dB or less when full throttle (under load, not just revving in neutral) and near redline when measured from 50′ away from the track surface.
