Re: WTB Headers for 91 Z
ZR-1 NET Registry has a wholesale account with stainless works. I cant give you a price because you are not a member, However I can tell you this, Your membership would be $45.00 for the first year and $35.00 every year after that. With that in mind the money your saving on the headers would just about pay for 8+ years of membership dues to the ZR-1 Net Registry.
Here is a link to the Registry store where you can join. http://www.zr1netregistry.com/Market...stryStore.aspx

Re: WTB Headers for 91 Z
The Watsons are tough... had mine for 12 years and all is good. Somebody mentioned to me years ago they will outlive the lifetime of the car by a 3 to 1 ratio. I am not sure how they compare from a HP and torque perspective.

Re: WTB Headers for 91 Z
Brand new OBX headers are available for only $550 shipped, and it's a quality product. Keep in mind that you need to also have them ceramic-coated (inside AND out) after you buy them and that's going to cost another $200-$300. That is, unless you find a used set that's already coated, of course.
Yes, OBX are Chinese-made and that sucks. I'm a buy-American guy and I'll gladly pay a premium for an American-made product. But not double. To those of you who are willing to put your money where your mouth is and cough up twice the money for SW, I honestly have all the respect in the world. I just couldn't justify it myself. JMHO. |

Re: WTB Headers for 91 Z
Yes I see that....I have spoken to a few members on the forum and they like the OBX system......I'm leaning toward that way....Is ceramic coating that neccasary ? I mean people say it lowers the temp of the headers...Look, there still going to get hot...As far as a rust inhibitor, there stainless steel already...

Re: WTB Headers for 91 Z
Yes,it does help....Heat build up of course is a horsepower killer...Some members have contacted me about there used units....I'm sure they are already ceramic coated..
Reason I like the OBX is I'm looking for a system without an aggressive growl....I have that already on my 73.....The OBX is not that loud...I have heard them on you tube.. |
