Strange suspension noise
Recently my 94 Z developed a strange noise. When backing out of parking with the wheel turned to the right, as I am backing out, I hear what sounds like my left tire is sticking followed by skipping - strange sensation of left tire being dragged. I haven't tried in opposite direction. Could this be from worn out A arm bushing or worn out tie rod end?
Anyone had similar experience? |

Re: Strange suspension noise
Sure it's not the rear tire skipping? Posi-trac/limited slip differential will do that on a tight turning radius. Have you serviced your differential lately?

Re: Strange suspension noise
Could be. Rear differential fluid change was done about 14,000 miles ago-Mobil 1 synthetic fluid plus GM differential additive. I'll have to roll down the window and see if I can tell.

Re: Strange suspension noise
Try some very tight and slow "figure 8's" maybe with window down as well as a really tight left or right when in reverse. A sensation on very tight left or right in reverse wouldn't necessarily be considered an issue, I'm assuming this is in the AM when everything is "COLD". Try it, drive it, park it and revisit the reverse tight turns with the rear at closer to normal operating temperature.
Have you ever replaced the clutch pack? Miles? Looks like you'll need Phil's services if you've not. Last edited by WVZR-1; 11-20-2014 at 03:47 AM. |
