Take care of yourself and stay on the asphalt
Could have been a lot worse.

I ride a Mondia Road Bike and have had several close calls myself one time ending up in the truck box of a pick em up truck that turned in front of me when I was racing through an intersection.......they never see you on a bike

I have enjoyed getting on the bike and just riding up a river trail. Been doing this for the last 4-5 years. The Madone has given me the opportunity to do 25-40+ mile rides. I did a 43m ride in less than 3 hours for instance. Not exactly Tour de France pace, but a solid 15 mph average. I've clocked 27mph speeds on flats using top gear. FUN! The carbon fiber lightness makes previously tough inclines so much easier to get over. So this really bums me out. Basically, I flopped over with my shoes still clipped into the pedals. Happened very quickly so my hip took a pretty big hit as I came down.
But it could have been worse. The helmet did its job. Looking at getting another one soon.
Next year I may look to do rides in groups. Safer than being a lone wolf out there.
