Lets talk front spoliers
Ok I have an original oem front spoiler for my car, however they break so easily I decided to replace with aftermarket just to save the original for NCRS purposes.
I bought one from ecklers that was around $60 bucks. Took the car out today and went over a speed bump, didn't here any noise but when I got home the center section was broken in two pieces. What or which is the best aftermarket reproduction to buy? Second question what is the difference in the spoilers? Last edited by Z06scentair; 11-29-2013 at 06:56 PM. |

Re: Lets talk front spoliers
OP - what year is your car? If the car is a '90 there are two different heights available for the 3 piece deflectors. The base car had the shorter of the two. If the car is a '91+ there's only one.
If it's a '90 the OEM/GM taller Z51/ZR1/Z5G (Callaway) had "stiffening" ridges added and were way more substantial. I would think all after-market is likely missing those BUT I don't know and I haven't looked. Harder in this case is likely the issue. The OE/GM pieces would take substantial abuse and that was due to the material used. Last edited by WVZR-1; 11-30-2013 at 06:14 PM. |

Re: Lets talk front spoliers
I've been through a few myself and I find the last 3 piece set i bought from Corvette America during Carlisle this past August to be the best quality compared to the ones I got from Ecklers and MAD vette.

Re: Lets talk front spoliers
Thanks for the advice....the spoiler i received is very rigid from Ecklers. It broke the first time I took my car out.
Will be purchasing another now possibly Corvette Central or Corvette America. |

Before you buy ask what product the deflector is made from. Look at your old one that's broke for the plastic material ID code and don't buy another of the same type. If your GM original is off the car check the material code of it. |
