Re: car show casualty
Paul was right. The red cars can really fly.

Re: car show casualty
very good advice Pete
there are old pilots and bold pilots but very few old bold ones LBA @ 180 but it ends quickly there too. like the show says "let's be careful out there" with the cool air and now bald runcraps, even a bit of gentle prodding on the LSV brings some unexpected wheelspin time to get those haneous excuse for a tire off the beast before it succumbs to a nearby pole been there, done that. I wrecked a beautiful 70 Formula firebird with a 400, 4 spd, 4.10 gears when I was a kid. jabbed the throttle and spun it at 30 mph. car hit a pole after jumping the curb on the drives side roof buckled and I was staring at the pole. another 10 inches of uncontrolled drift and my head would have been a watermelon shooter. my wife (then girl friend) despite HATING the car, stepped in and loaned me the money to buy a little RX3 (was in MINT condition) for cheap to get me back on the road although I already knew "she was the one" it sure bailed me out. and I'll never forget the sound that car made. the pole didn't move. bent the car so bad that both doors wouldn't open, and the window crank snapped off because the pass side window was jammed we had to crawl through the broken glass and shinny past the pole to get out. cops were not pleased, but when they saw all the sand on the road that had been dragged out of the parking lot (winter time, snow had just cleared) they understood what happened. when I "hit it" it was like the car was on roller skates moral of the story, apply the power judiciously and under "known good" conditions. I've had too many friends seriously hurt by getting out of shape. sorry for the soap box!!

Re: car show casualty
Reminds me of the famous words from this man.
"I was going faster than I ever went in my whole life, then I fell off."
