extra padding for driver's seat
While I really like the looks of the 90 sport seats, mine wasn't comfortable on long drives. I was considering swapping them for later seats (95).
I took the seat out to work under the dash. While it was out, I thought I would experiment with adding some additional padding to the seat bottom. My wife had a piece of "memory foam" hanging around. It was actually designed as a "pillow" with a half cylinder shape. I decided to just place it under the seat bottom cushion after reinstalling the seat. While I'm sure new seat foam is a better solution, I was pleased with the result. We took the Z on a little trip of 300 miles and I was happy with how the seat (and my seat :-) felt. The piece of memory foam I used was 15" by 8" and about 4" high at the top. While YMMV, I will be keeping the extra foam in. |

Re: extra padding for driver's seat
Simple solutions are better than swapping seats. I did own a 95 coupe for a year and the later style sport seats are good, but I think the earlier seats look better. For me, they are both comfortable, just the ingress and egress is improved on the 94-96 units.
