I tried Ron. Lack of support and political BS stopped me from proceeding.
Only one person will come forward and explain why we can't drag race this year.

I thought we had rounded up enough support without registry support. Oh well maybe next time.
The part I don't get is there will be autocross but drags are unacceptable?

Ron, I can feel your pain. I think the biggest concern that we have as a group is legality. We are working on getting the group insurance so we will have a umbrella policy that will cover drag racing.
Now I know what you are going to say the track has insurance. The truth in the matter is anyone can sue anyone at any given time. Any lawsuit of any kind could destroy the registry just in legal fees.
The board of directors voted on this event twice to make sure we were doing what was in the best interest of the group.

Don't Worry Crowne Point races will be here soon enough and you can see what that "421" beast will do there.

Yeah. I'm good with all that. It all had to happen kinda quick as we waited until last minute. I was thinking we had the support without registry help but it seems that it was the upfront money that was the biggest snag which is understandable..who wants to put up a couple grand and no guarantee of getting it back. Had we started earlier and got enough commitments and/or deposits I (or someone) could have put down the cash without a large risk

I could have easily taken care of this drag racing commitment. But because I'm being snubbed by the upper board member and because I won't conform with his antic's. My position is such. WTF.

I'm not one of your puppet's David. The club is not about brown-nosing . No *** kissing here.

Me , I'm here for the Registry (LIKE YOU ONCE WERE) and the many friends we have made throughout the years.

Well, isn't that special - the lawyers have taken over. Everywhere I have raced, I signed a waiver absolving the track and the rest of the world. I knew I was on my own dime. So what has changed here? I would liked to have been a fly on the wall whilst the board was making this decision ...
Maybe the legal eagles can come forward with their rationale ...

FYI, I might have decided to come to the event if I could have run my new toy, but that's for another place and time now.

Hey Glenn,

Don't blame the lawyers. As Frankie said above - he could have managed it personally with ease. I did so for 5 or so straight years in the past. There are deeper issues going on here. I'm not a member, as I didn't wish to condone or encourage any actions that would result in the destruction and dismantling of the club I worked so hard to create. Since you are a member, I encourage you to back Frankie and let other members know the truth.

Good luck!

I too am perplexed as to how dragracing can be pulled off at other venues and it can't be here. I was looking forward to this, but now i have made other plans and won't be coming.

I wasn't trying to stir up the pot or anything. I just hadn't heard the final verdict.
