Default Royal Purple's synthetic

Has anyone tried Royal Purple for Oil and the Trans Fuild? how is it compaired to Mobil -1

really why is that? just wondering? i was watching Horsepower TV and they did a Special on Royal Purple, so it got me wondering if anyone has used it in their Z's.

I know it has some additives to help stock leaks, I also have a buddy who changed from mobile 1 to royal purple and had bottom end failure shortly after. After engine oil analyis the company who did the test said stay away from Royal. All I know is I would not use it.

I'm going with Royal Purple myself and will post my opinion after I have some experience with it. I have been using Mobil 1 since I bought my Z and not happy with the consumption rate so wanting to try something else. I bought a case but have not gotten around to changing it yet; I like what I have read about it in many different publications.

As for the trans I'm going with the BMW Castrol synthetic formula recommended by the ZF Doc himself.

from what i heard,1990 zr1 did not have valve guide oil seals,and are more prone to oil consumption than later z's
