Default Heater Bypass?

I was wondering (for the folks that live in warm climates I guess?) if anyone has seen or heard of someone blocking off the heater system? Here are my silly thoughts on this for me being in Hawaii. I don't want to have to worry about leaking heater core since I will replace the carpets soon and never use the heater. My theory is that my interior might be a little cooler without the heat coming into the cabin even if only going through only the heater core under the dash. I heard the heater core is a real beeaaach to replace anyway (not removing, just capping at firewall). Looking at the cooling system diagram and the real thing it appears to be quite simple to block off. All my hot rods (old school small/big block no issues) were always blocked off since I live in a warm climate year round. I know that I am already going to do the plenum/TB coolant bypass.

Is there any negative that I am missing? I realize that if I sell it one day and all of the originality stuff, but I'm already too late for that and I consider mine a nice driver. Even if I sold the car one day it would probably be local as no one wants to pay to ship a car from Hawaii.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Default Re: Heater Bypass?

My opinion is that it won't hurt it at all....if you wanna bypass it...go for it.
