DC battery for light bulbs
The fsm says to disconnect the negative battery terminal to replace the chmsl bulbs and the backup lamps.
Is it really necessary to disconnect power to replace a bulb? |

Re: DC battery for light bulbs
The FSM says that on just about every maintenace procedure. Generic safety precaution which I think is necessary sometimes and not so much other times, IMO. Unless your worried about someone jumping in the car and pushing the brake pedal or turning on the headlights, while your changing it. I think you'll be just fine.

I didn't. Just wear a glove and avoid touching the bulb with bare fingers. Oil from fingers will burn out the bulb.
