Lumbar Pump motors
Does anyone know where I can find 2 lumbar pump motors? GM says they are discontinued.

Are you sure the pumps are bad? Check this out:http://zr1.net/ZR1_seatpump.html

The symptoms in that article are "pump runs audibly and the bellows diaphram has ruptured". I get no sound when actuated. The motors are connected. I had a dealer check their network. Any ideas?(Edited by Bob C at 8:11 am on Nov. 25, 2002)

When the diaphragm ruptures it can also jam the motor. You need to take the pump off the motor and check things out. The whole job is pretty easy.

Bob, do you really need new motors? Take the pump apart and replace the diaphram(sp?) with a piece of rubber from a kitchen glove. I'll bet the pumps will run again. Been there done that.

Don't know if you have solved your problem yet, but there is a brand new pump on eBay for $50.00, don't know if that is a good price or not but seller states he paid $90.00 for it. Link:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1873825109

Thanks for the help. The dealer quoted about $85.00 if he could find it. I haven't had a chance to try the other solution what with holidays, year-end stuff etc. I'll let you know what works.
