Default Serpentine Belt Removal

Some advice please on removal of the serpentine belt '92 ZR-1. It should be a slam-dunk, but with the belt free from all pulleys it appears it will not pass under the throttle body and the air-conditioning compressor pulley?? Removal of this pulley is not stated in the service manual. Am I missing something here??? Thanks for any advice.

It'll come out. You just gotta finesse it. Or at least mine came out. I think I angled a little bit out, then pulled the belt along so that it would feed out to get free.

The big problem I had was getting the new one on! It was shorter than the original (due to not having been stretched out for years) and was really hard to get over all the pulleys.

Hey Guys!

I used my big torque wrench on the Idler to get it off. Was kind of easy. The hard part was the new unit. The problem was that the unit that was prescribed was not the same length and did not fit (no matter what I did.) I found that NAPA has the wrong size as the spec and got a the next size larger and It has been fine for hundreds of miles. I am not certain of the part number. I can look if you want.

The last belt I installed was a Goodyear Gatorback Poly-V
P/N: 4060805 6PK2045 (I believe this means 80" in length and 5 ribs, not sure, there is a code chart on the Goodyear Gatorback site)
