Re: New ZR1
I remember when I bought my 99 Cobra I could not get them to let me test drive until we negotiated to deposit - I could refuse the car after the drive. I have some sympathy for a dealer holding an expensive, limited and desirable car. Pretty easy to rack up 100s of miles indulging legit seeming prospects' bucket lists. I am sure you could negotiate a similar right of refusal.
I also think you could manage a Z06 test drive much more easily and know the ZR1 is "even more so". The C6 Z06 is probably the fastest and most capable factory trim car I'll ever drive in anger. That thing was psychic - I was fighting my Cobra all day at an autocross and then the Z06 "just did what I meant", and that was before he did much modification.... GLWPurchase, - Jeff

Re: New ZR1
Don't know what I was thinking Vilant bout our z's being made within a day of each other. Duh, I forgot about other C4's.
I will continue to try and test drive one. I know it's hard for dealers to know if someone is serious or just wanting to joyride a low production car. And wil they be the one who makes the sale? But I'm gonna keep looking.
