Secondary vacuum question
When checking the secondary vacuum pump and line going under the plenum for a vacuum leak, does that same line going to the plenum pull vacuum at idle ?...
i.e. at idle if disconnected the line has engine manifold vacuum, wondering if this indicates a bad reservoir or check valve? Or is that normal? Ed |

Re: Secondary vacuum question
Sorry, line fitting disconnected near the oil cooler where you check pump vacuum and plenum line for leak-down.
I am guessing that the pump and vacuum reservoir is for the secondaries at WOT when manifold vacuum drops as just a reservoir by itself would be quickly depleted during a WOT run to top speed, I was just surprised that the manifold vacuum is not isolated from the pump ... Ed |

Re: Secondary vacuum question
Here is the manual schematic diagram of the vacuum system.
It clearly shows that you would feel vacuum at that point (when disconnected from the pump. http://zr1.net/forum/album.php?album...pictureid=1351 When the engine is running this vacuum will shut off the air pump if everything is running properly.
