I'm not sure about the finish on the motor, check out the throttle body cover...looks like the paint is blistering?....or could it be the picture?.....would need to see in person, otherwise car does look nice.

Actually that blistering in not that uncommon, not usually this bad but you can see it on many ZR-1's.

Thanks...I was unaware of that.....any known reason or theories on why just the TB cover would blister?....

It's probably made of a lesser quality of metal, with impurities, relative to the rest of the engine. It probably is acting as somewhat of a sacrificial anode when there's any electrolysis occurring within the cooling system.

I have been told that bypassing the coolant around the TB will eliminate the problem in the future...correct guys?

Correct, it should eliminate the problem. There's 2 ways to do so -- you can bypass just the TB, or you can tap and plug the injector housings, thus bypassing the plenum and TB. This makes plenum pulls much easier as you don't have to open the cooling system.

That is exactly what I have been told previously. Thanks.

Does anyone else find it a little strange that the wheel balancing weights are on the outside of the wheels? I think I'd shoot myself before doing that......

Make an offer. You never know. Then keep it stock for quiet rides. White is great! Red, white, & blue ZR-1s. Awesome!
