Default Almost forgot...

... When I changed my coolant hoses a couple of weeks ago my a/c accumulator
hose was rubbing on my coolant cross over pipe. It only rubbed the paint off
the coolant pipe but the crimp on the a/c hose was cut into. Not enough to
replace yet. Has anyone else had this problem? Just wanted to mention this so
the pipe doesn't become a problem on the road or worse yet trying to find one
like the dreaded thermo housing I needed a couple of years ago, thanks to Todd
Cerami who had one and let me have it at a fair price. ( hope I spelled your name right Todd)...jim

Oh yeah I almost forgot again ,I remembered this only because I was looking at
72 warbonnet's pics of his car and his a/c hose looks very close too. It could
be just the way the pic was taken but could be worth a look anyway.

Mine looks like that too -- but seals fine. I'm not going to worry unless it leaks!

I found that on my 90, and a couple of other places where I didn't like the closeness of two hoses also.

I did a real backyard fix. I bought black heater hose at the parts store bulk display and cut small sections & put slits and used it as a sleeve at the places I though things were too close for my taste. It seems to be working well as far as I'm concerned. I did this when I did my Samco hose kit back in 07 and my homemade sleeves are still holding up fine. The only issue is that I check them at least once a week to see if they're still where they need to be. Mostly they don't move too far to the point of not doing what i want them to do. I suppose that someone sells an actual part that does the same thing? I never looked.

Wow, I forgot all about this until I saw your post.
I too had this in the exact same place. I took the AC
hose off and put a sleeve over it right at the metal crimp.
I used some large heat-shrink tubing, the kind with sticky
hot glue inside. When applied and heated it makes a real
tight seal and does not move.

Hi Tom, I work for a Crane and heavy rigging company and I am constantly
insulating hoses and pipes this way. I use plastic tie straps to keep them in
place where I want them. We have all different size hoses so a lot of my work
involves cutting radiator size hose for insulating. We just got a new Kenworth
truck so I'll spend a couple of days looking for anything rubbing on each other.

Oh man Thanks for the zip strap idea Jim! Don't know why I didn't think of that...I was going to use black duct tape! Then thought better of it.
