Re: Wayne Carini and the collectability of ZR-1
Lee,
No question that the ZR-1 was the starter pistol for real, affordable horsepower. I think the legends lives and gets stronger with those of us here that continue to burn the "flamefront" brightly! Quote:

Re: Wayne Carini and the collectability of ZR-1
Just my two cents......I am not knowledgeable about collector cars as to me anything that I like, if I had the cash, would be in my 'collection'. The only thing would be I'd devalue them because I'd be driving all of them, so I'd never be a collector in any real sense.
I do believe later on when car guys look around for an 'inflection' point in returning to legal big power in the post EPA era, our motors will be that point. If you argue the counter point to that you are not looking at the blue prints for any of the big power motors of today. GM's line up uses stuff borrowed from our motors, up and down the spectrum actually not just the hot rod motors. Ford took it to the extreme and sort of made copies of our motors. Okay, I never looked at the new Hemi series from MOPAR so I'll leave that out. JMHO I'm guilty of wanting to drive my Z as much as I have time to do so. I like nothing better than to get her on cruises that last for hours. To me that's the way I get to realize what a darn good GT car a ZR-1 really is. Thanks Dave, Tony, Graham, et al for my ZR-1! Tom
