Just wondered if anyone ever tried anything like this on a ZR-1 -

Man, I like that...I have never liked the 90-96 instrument cluster on my ZR-1. I want guages that tell you the actual reading not a "guess what temp I am now" guage. But I admit it has to look good or it's not worth doing to your Z.

mine still looks like brand new...and operates perfect...i wouldn't consider
doing that unless i was having problems...sure wouldn't help the resale value of the car.
unless it was used strictly for road or drag racing car...my .02

The version there looked kind of 'basic' admittedly, but he did it for racing rather than aesthetics. I imagine you could do something that looked more OEM with a little effort. You'd certainly want to make it reversible though.
