Default Main Bearings

Can anyone verify the rumor that some Ford main bearings can be used as in the LT5? If this is true, what Ford engine's bearings can be used?

Thanks
Constantine

Yes, it's true...but! The crank must be turned (cut) and the bearings need to be staked...These two things are somewhat costly and not the Best alternative. The best is to get some real LT5 bearings...to which...there are still some out there. I do not know exactly which Ford bearings are the correct (not exactly correct but...) ones for the LT5. Those that have the bearings "on hand" are not parting with them...there is rumor that GM still has some in a warehouse but their computer is curtrently unable to find them....for now. Rumor is something like 200 sets of bearings....even though you can't actually buy the bearings in "sets"...you have to buy them pretty much individually.
