Donor for throttle body.

After drilling and tapping out to 8-32 threads I needed 4 8-32 socket head screws. I found an unusual donor for them.

This guitar has seen many gigs but is retired and has become and organ donor for my throttle body. 8-32 screws galore.


Now just grind them flush and wallah! Now when I hit the gas I might hear some guitar solos under the hood.

I don't know what dag means. You'll have to enlighten me. I'm not up to speed on all of these abbreviated words.

DAG is the goop applied on the shafts to seal them against the throttle body.

It's also in the throttle body bore(s) to seal the butterflies when closed so the IAC valve can do it's job. It looks like gunk and sometimes gets cleaned out inadvertently. Result is no seal and high idle.

Ok. Then my next question is where do I get the stuff. If I can get it locally I would prefer that. There wasn't much of anything in the throttle body when I took it apart. It was pretty clean and idled at 850rpm's.

Ok. So is it used on all throttle plates. And is it available at any automotive store.

I need that DAG stuff too. I've search for it or similar equivalents but can find nothing. There has got to be some similar type of sticky, goopy stuff that you can buy that will do the same thing.
