Name that Noise>>
I have a vibrating type noise in my Z, as the car gets warmer or even sit for a short bit after being driven this noise gets a bit louder.
It was there last year, but I had a bent Water pump pulley and thought that was the issue and the tensioner was the noise.. in the video, the clank type noise is my applying pressure with a bar to the tensioner. I would like to determine the issue, although I am driving the car to Bowling Green next Friday.. I have put about 300-400 miles on this year and there are no issues otherwise here is the link: http://vettextc.jiminees.com/jeff/misc/0729091838a.mp4 Thoughts? also let me know if the video does not work.. It works on my MAC and my VIsta machine.. might require Quicktime though EDIT: I also thoght it might be the WP itself too, but it spun fine while the car was apart

just the ones on the body.. others are gone This seems to be up front and with a high idle the noise changes the rhythm. Starting to think Tensioner Pulley and probably worth swapping

Pulley issue.
Disconnect the belt, then start motor. No noise, replace belt as you now know it's on the pulley setup. Lube tensioner pulley check for noise. Lube alternator, check for noise. Listen carefully at the power steering pump as well (Check fluid level) |

Re: Name that Noise>>
Idler pulley, but tensioner seems 'soft'
