Default Rear Spring issue

I noticed my car was sitting lower on the driver side. I wanted to lower it down some anyway, so I bought the longer bolts and did so. I couldnt get it even in the back with the new bolts. I had to use a new one and a stock one in conjunction. It looks good and even, but now it scrapes the resonator on dips while cruising.

Is my spring worn out too far? Is that why I couldnt use both long bolts?

There are reports of 'spring' failure due to delamination (not like a layer cake but rather the bonding)/ cracking of the synthetic springs due to age. First starts as you are describing your situation then gets progressively worse (basically spring failure).

Mine did the same thing a while ago. And the funny thing is when you put the new spring and the old side by side they look identical and there's no signs of damege. It simply looses its regitity.

So, its pretty well done I guess. I am planning on looking for a low mile used one. Does it absolutely have to be for a ZR-1 or can I use one from say a 96 coupe?

Your spring sounds shot, and when those lowering bolts are used they soften up the spring. I have mine lowered with the bolts its a too soft for my liking, I will change spring rate or get the adjustable spring,,,

rhipsher,

Are you saying that the back of your car (from driver side to passenger side) did not sit level so you replaced the rear leaf spring. After you installed the new leaf spring, did it then sit level?

So I found a spring from a 96 CE vert with 12000 miles on it. The rate shows 39.9 N/mm My Z has one thats showing 33.0 N/mm Will this work ok with the FX3?
TIA
