And really, if "bang for the buck" is the major issue as far as performance goes, nitrous oxide is a far better value than plenum porting work and headers. I'm not necessarily advocating that in lieu of the engine work, because you have the complexity of the nitrous injection hardware, the hassle of refiling the bottle and lack the coolness of a modified engine *but* if initial-cost-per-performance-gained is the benchmark: nitrous is a better choice. A properly installed and calibrated nitrous injection on a 350 inch LT5 can get you to 550hp with ease whereas you'd never see that from a 350 with engine mods that also had reasonable drive ability.

Please note this isnt for your 13,530 Mile garage queen. You can blow and engine quickly. But NOS systems have advanced over the years to improve safety, and the decent bottom end of the lt5 might be interesting. Have started looking into this and mat startup a small websitr dedicated to this.http://www.holley.com/index.asp?division=NOS

I won't disagree with you about the NOSs bang/$.
However I will add that lady Nitrous is a dangerous and exciting vixen that if handled correctly in controlled conditions can perform wonders.
But, should you handle her incorrectly, she will cost you dearly.

NOS is nice, but it's better to be blown.
Twin Turbo for big power, the only way to go.

TC,

I'd have to agree. With NA and Turbo, the power is on tap always.
NOS needs planning and prep.

Speaking about that has anybody seen an update on the twin turbo project?

Which twin turbo? When I dropped off my '92 Aaron at
SGC was working on one. I believe it was a black '90.

LOL at this point any twin turbo project. I know Ron Hanselman in Nevada was working on one before he retired from the Air Force.

I would like to go twin turbo and an auto trans...I think that would be a blast and something different. NOS for me, would be track only and these motors are far too expensive to play with that. If i was going that route, I would buy a different car to modify for track only.
