What are on all the decals on the radiator shroud?
My 90 never came with any when I bought it and although it looks very clean, what are all the decals and are they still available? Some close up pics would be appreciated. I tried searching and searching and I found pictures, but I can't tell what they are specifically other than I know one is for the belt routing.
Thanks in advance. Aloha! |

Re: What are on all the decals on the radiator shroud?
On the drivers side radiator shroud are three labels>>>
Now on the passenger side there appears to be one label on some cars and two on others. Here is what I have>> Now what is "missing" (I have looked at 2 sub 500 mile ZR-1s and mine which did not have this label) which, if you had the label, would be just to the left side of the label show above>>> Yes...labels are available and VERY pricey from White Racing Products.

Michael,
I can't thank you enough for taking the time to help me out with this. I really appreciate it. I guess I'll seek them out as long as I don't have to refinance my home to do so. Thanks again!!!!! |

Kurt White had all these decals at one time, send him an e-mail.

FYI, I checked mine yesterday as I was cleaning up a coolant mess under the hood. I've all the decals Michael said, including the 5th one with the belt removal instructions.

Re: What are on all the decals on the radiator shroud?
A few weeks back I noticed the TB to plenum gasket had some crusty stuff around where the coolant passage is. So I ordered up a Jerry's gasket and investigated. The GM gasket (which was only a few years old) was all soggy and deteriorated around the coolant holes. I figured why not bypass the TB, change the gasket, and be done with it.
I got a Marc H bypass tube, as I recall him asking me if I'd wanted to do it when he ported the plenum. It's just some bent tubing though, I don't think he normally sells them. But it was easier than messing around with a bender (which I'd have to buy) and whatnot, I just wanted to get it fixed. Well anyway, on my way into work on Friday, there was suddenly smoke pouring out of my car. Turns out the hose on the passenger side pushed off the bypass pipe, and jetted coolant all over the place. Some Loudoun Sherrif's helped out with a screwdriver to tighten the hose back on, and a lift to a nearby grocery store for some distilled water (car ended up taking about a gallon, so I'm glad I didn't risk it). So I cleaned that mess up yesterday. I still need to fix the pipe, I'll buy a flaring tool and flare the end a bit so the clamp can't slide off. And I need to drain/refill the coolant since it's way diluted now. Of course no one sells silicated green stuff, so I'll have to wait until during the week and either bend over at a GM dealer, or I may just jump to some propylene glycol "low tox" stuff since it's silicated, reasonably priced, and reasonably available. Also when stuff like this happens again, I won't leave a highly toxic dump on the side of the road, just a mildly toxic one.
