Default Hey Pete... want to time my cams?

Pete,

Since I have my cam covers off, how hard would it be to time up my cams? Can it be done with the engine still in the car. Think I could talk you and Al into comming over to my place and doing it? I'll pay for what ever is needed... including the beer.

Think about it....

Not happening.
I heard Marc had done this once, ask him see if he will do it again.

Time and money wise you'd be better off yanking the motor.

Somebody call me for more info.
Pete

If you're yanking the motor to time the cams, may as well get the heads ported.

Default I asked Marc about that...

...just after I got my Z. He said he did it once - using mirrors, etc - but he wouldn't do it again. He said it was way easier to pull the motor and do it out of the car than to leave it in to do it!

I have a list of things to do to the motor when I pull it (next winter) - possible re-grind/time the cams being one of them.
