Default Valet Key on the bay

hey guys,

Saw this and some people wanted a valet key....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1990-...Q5fAccessories

Only thing is, seller says it's a 90 to 95 key.... I think there are 2 keys, right? 1990 and 1991 and 1995?

Correct the 90 key is different than the 91-95 key.

The emblem on it is definitely 1990. I don't recall the keys having teeth cut on them though? I guess I'll have to go look at mine again...

My power key on my '90 has teeth cut (both keys). Never tried on the door?? When I replaced the whole assembly with NOS the teeth were cut on it also.

it's been some time since i've seen my power key, cars been sleeping for months, but i remember it having 'teeth' cut into it also not like the ignition key but it wasn't flat either. however i only remember them being on one side. I'll check when i get home. Gordon Killabrew was the one who told me about the power key on the 90 being a blank door key

which probably meant you can use a blank door key and have it cut for the power key. all 3 of the 90 power keys I have are cut.

I'm pretty sure that all 90 power keys are cut the same from the factory and that a blank door key can be cut to be used as a power key. I don't think I remember seeing a "blank" power key.

I doubt a "blank key" would work but who knows!

'90 key info: The key's "knock out" is a code "91C9" and is on a D keyway. Any D blank door key cut to "91C9" will work. I use a D blank "padded" key for mine for everyday use!

'91+ key info: "73L0" and is cut on an H keyway.
